Canadian Thanksgiving

Today is Canadian Thanksgiving. It's a day to think about all the things in my life, for which I'm thankful.

I've spent the last 5 days working with a group of great people. I'm very grateful that we've been a team and I want to let them know. Of course, a handmade card is the best way for me to express myself! Here is what I did.

Thank you cards for a Canadian Thanksgiving

First, I designed a card that I find especially pleasing. The images are from Fabulous Florets and French Foliage. Love those sets! The sentiment is from Day of Gratitude.

I wanted to the cards to look special. So I used the triple play stamping technique. That's a popular stamping technique, where the image is continued on several layers of card stock. Your finished product is quite striking. You know that the card giver thinks highly of the card recipient!

But I wanted the cards to be even more special. Instead of making them all the same, I decided to make each a different color! Each card starts with Very Vanilla and Early Espresso. But I chose a different third color for each card. You know that I couldn't make these cards "assembly line style". While I repeated the stamping and assembly technique, each card was made one at a time. It's a special way to say Thank You!

By the way, we made cards using this stamping technique in one of my monthly card classes. If you're looking for a stress-free fun place to do a little card making and have some fun, consider attending. They take place on the third Tuesday of each month.

Do you attend card making classes? Leave a comment below and let me know the type of clases that you like!

The additional colors are More Mustard, Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder, Bashful Blue and Wild Wasabi. These cards were designed with colors from different Color Collections.  Starting with the neutral colors made it possible.

When you give a handmade made you're sending the message that you're giving some of your time. That is something that can't be replaced. So, a handmade Thank you card is even more special!

So, today I wish my American friends a Happy Columbus Day! We're lucky to live in a country with personal freedom.

And to my Canadian friends and family, I wish you a Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!

  1. That technique is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, too. I hope my friends don’t tire of it, as I’m using it on all their cards!
