Vintage Verses Valentine

It's exactly one week until Valentine's Day. So I've been working on a card for my husband. Today, I'm designing a Vintage Verses Valentine.

There's nothing old-fashioned about this Vintage Verses Valentine!

I started with a sentiment from the Vintage Verses stamp set. It's one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets that you can earn for FREE. (By the way, it's a little difficult to see in the brochure. This particular text is stamped in white on a yellow envelope.) I chose this text because it's not the typical "I love you" or "be my valentine" wording. When you've been making cards for a long time, it's nice to collect greetings that are a little less ordinary.

I punched the shape using the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and the Apothecary Accents Framelits Die. All my lines are simple, including the circles stamped on the white background from Circle Circus.

Because my guy is not a pink-and-red guy, I tried to stay away from those shades. Colors used are So Saffron, Night of Navy and Soft Suede. But it needed something more. So, I added the large heart punched from Real Red and attached it with a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals.

Do you have trouble designing cards for men? Leave me a comment below and let me know if you'd like to see more masculine cards.

Definitely a masculine design. Direct and to the point. My Vintage Verses Valentine.
