Many of you know that I hold a monthly card class in my home. This month I’m using stamp sets that will be retiring this coming weekend, with the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog. Here is a card that we won’t be making. There’s nothing wrong with the card – but I designed another one that is so much cuter!
There is only one stamped image, from Ciao, Baby, a stamp set in the spring catalog. With all the discussion about the retiring catalog items, please remember that the spring catalog sales period ends on Friday, May 31.
Colors used on this card are Daffodil Delight and Real Red. Nice hot colors for the cool start to summer in the Midwest! I used my Big Shot with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The zigzag pattern contrasts nicely with the scallops circles used for the focal pieces. Notice, too, that I ran some of the red scallop circles through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A little Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and you’re done. Very quick to make, but with lots of detail to make it interesting. Pretty much my favorite card to make.
But alas, we won’t make it tonight at card class. And since the stamp set is retiring, we won’t make it ever at card class. But, if you attend tonight, I promise that you’ll be happy with the projects!
I love stamping but embossing and punches just open up an entirely new list of possibilities! Plus there’s always that “ooh! How DID you DO that??” reaction that we all love!! (P.S. Really looking forward to card class tonight! and picking up my order!)
It was such a fun evening. Really glad that you made it to card class. Looking forward to next month’s class.
