Still Designing Cards with Circles

I mentioned the other day that I’m really missing that stamp set with all the circles. However, it’s caused me to think outside the box – or the circle! Today’s project shows even that without that stamp set, I’m still designing cards with circles.

Courtesy of my Big Shot and Punches, I'm still designing cards with circles! The circles for this card design were punched using the 1-1/4″ Circle, the 1″ Circle and the 1/2″ Circle Punches. I ran all the Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay circles through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

All circles would have been boring – even though I love to design cards with circles. So, I added a strip of the new Basic Black 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon. Doesn’t it make a cool contrast?

The sentiment was stamped from the Delightful Dozen stamp set, clearly a must-have for the serious card-maker.

This was an easy card to make. The fussiest part for me was trimming the circles that went over the edges of the card. I know that some people leave their cards like that. However, I prefer to trim the outside edges, so that the card slides easily in and out of the envelope!

Are you stuck on a shape like I am? Leave a comment below and let us know. In the meanwhile, I’m still designing cards with circles!

  1. What a great card! Love the color combo, the fun chevron ribbon and the birthday stamp just really finishes off that layout! Excellent! You can continue being stuck on circles, in my opinion!!
