How to Show LOVE in a Hand Made Card

There are so many wonderful ways to show someone that you love him. Or her. Today’s project illustrates how to show LOVE in a hand made card! Take a look.

Love in a hand made card - http://stampedimpressio.comIsn’t this cute?!

Do you recognize the stamped sentiment? It’s from Friendly Wishes. I took the Love You sentiment and inked just part of it with my Stampin’ Write Markers. Then I stamped it 3 times, without re-inking. That’s how I achieved the graduated color.

I punched out the stamped sentiment by running it through the Big Shot with one of the Circle Collection Framelits. After it was cropped, I ran the card stock through the Big Shot again, but with the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The “you” is cut with the Hello Thinlits. Finally, I punched 2 little hearts with the heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. Not too mushy. Not too girly. It’s just right!!

Colors are Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White. Simple. Bold. They make a statement. Yes, you can use these colors for Valentine’s Day. But they work all year round, too! Good for Anniversaries. Or just like that! 🙂

The thickness of the stamped letters in LOVE and the die cut letters in YOU are about the same. So, I decided that the white mat between the 2 layers of Cherry Cobbler should match. That’s why it’s just 1/16th of an inch all around.

I didn’t show the inside here, but I included a layer of Whisper White, the same size and the white layer on the card front. I also attached 2 Cherry Cobbler hearts.

So, if you’re looking to create something special, show your LOVE with a hand made card!
