Playing with New Products!

I now I’ve been away for a while – there is just a lot of “stuff” going on in my life. All good. But lots of it. However, I’m back on track now. Today I started playing with new products from the brand new 2014-2015 Catalog!! It’s SO much fun. I guess it’s because there are SO many great additions to the catalog. Take a look at this card.

Playing with new hostess setLet’s start with the stamps… The flowers – don’t you just love them???? They’re from Bloom with Hope, one of the new hostess sets. Its retail value is $37.95 (for wood, or $27.95 for clear), but you can purchase it for $23 (or $17) when you host a party for $150. Makes me wonder why more people don’t host parties. But I digress.

The flower design is just perfect for those alcohol markers that are coming sometime soon (i.e. Blendabilities), but since they’re not yet here, I did something a little different. And easy! I used my Blender Pens and Coastal Cabana ink to color the petals of the flowers. Then I drew on a few lines with the Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Marker. I know many of you don’t like to “color” because you think you don’t like the results. But take a close look at my flowers. It doesn’t need to be perfect to be pretty!

Moving on…. the sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts. I think this is soon becoming my go-to stamp set for sentiments!

Focusing on the new…. The Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine is the cutest!  It’s similar to our regular Baker’s Twine, but 3 times as thick. Love it!

Of course, I made good use of my “old” products. I used the Bitty Butterfly Punch to make the small butterfly. I just sponged the edges of her wings and colored in her body! I used the Hexagon Punch to make the banner notches. And what card is complete without some Candy Dots in a corner?

I just LOVE playing with new products! Don’t you?

Beautiful! Great color combination and love the layout! That twine really is super cute and I love all the little extra bits that you have added that take this card from “oh, that’s nice” to “WOW!”.

    1. Thank you, Kathryn! There is nothing like having some new products to start those creative juices flowing 🙂
