Today, while I dig out from under all that Midwest snow, I'm working on More Secret Garden Flowers. Take a look.
This card design started with the 3-D flower in the front. I made it from the new White Creped Filter Paper available for the first time in the Spring Catalog. It looks so delicate, but it's really a lot more "hearty" than I expected. I punched several shapes from it – different scallop circles and then some simple circles – all of different sizes. I arranged them in order of size. With Sponge Daubers and graded shades of pink ink, (all the way from Rich Razzleberry to Pretty in Pink,) I colored each layer of the flower. I crinkled them up and then laid them in a pile, inserting a Brights Brad through the center. Definitely a whimsical design!
The background of the card front was stamped with a flower from the Secret Garden stamp set and the argyle shading from the Clockworks stamp set. (I never thought in a million years that I would use such a masculine image on a feminine, flowery card!) The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen.
There is another interesting point about this card design. I probably would never have made it, if I were not a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I admit that I'm slow to acquire some of the embellishments – I'm really just a rubber-stamp-and-ink crafter. However, I earned Creped Filter Paper through a demonstrator-only promotion. Since I have it, I figured that I should use it. And look at the final product! Love it!
There are a lot of good reasons to start your own stamping business. Access to discounted products is not a good enough reason by itself. However, if you're looking to own your own business, set your own goals, and make some money, all while fitting into your current lifestyle and commitments, then we should talk. And soon. Being your own boss has a lot to offer. You owe it to yourself to explore the options. If you're interested in learning more about what it takes to own your own stamping business, then send me an email, or leave me a comment below.
In the meanwhile, enjoy More Secret Garden Flowers!
I know. And so much fun to work with!
The white creped filter paper is really intriguing!
