How to Update a St Patrick’s Day Card

Okay, Take Two. Here is an updated (and quick!!) version of my St Patrick’s Day card!

St Patrick's Day - http://stampedimpression.comLet’s look at the main design elements.

The 4-1-1

  • Rainbow – To make the rainbow, I stamped the “smoosh” from Work of Art, one of the most versatile stamp sets in the annual catalog. This stamp set is simply amazing. I’m surprised that I don’t use it in every card I design. Really!
  • Shamrock – The Shamrock was made from the Pansy Punch. I punched out the 5-petal flower. Then I cut off one of the petals and increased the skinny space between the remaining ones. To make the petals stand out a little more (after all, the background is a little busy….) I gently sponged the tips in the same color as the card stock. Both are Wild Wasabi. The effect is subtle. But it is so effective. Trust me on this one!
  • Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow – Although they don’t show up well in the photo, the Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow is made from a Gold Foil Sheet. Every time I turned the camera to catch the shine, it made the rest of the card look odd. But the shine of the gold hearts is brilliant and rich. Just like LOVE.

And nothing is worth more than LOVE!

With that, let me leave you with this Irish blessing:

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

Happy St Patrick’s Day, my friends!
