Fun Facts about Stampin’ Up! Colors

I love colors. I love working with colors. How special that today is National Color Day! Now that’s a holiday I find easy to support!

Stampin’ Up! makes it ever so easy to work with their colors! If you didn’t know that, then you are in for some great information!!

Stamp' Up! Colors

Fun Fact #1

Stampin’ Up! organizes its colors into groups of 10 called Color Collections. These Collections make it easier to coordinate colors on your projects. Think of them as setting the mood for your project. The Collections are:

  • Brights – pop!
  • Regals – mainly deeper, richer tones (Editorial Comment – this is my FAVORITE Color Collection!)
  • Subtles – soft hues
  • Neutrals – they go with pretty much everything
  • In Colors – trendy. A set of 5 In Colors is introduced every year, lasting for 2 years.

You certainly don’t need to limit yourself to colors from just one Collection. But they provide a good starting point.

Fun Fact #2

Each Stampin’ Up! color coordinates across many product lines. So there is always ink and cardstock in each color. But there are also patterned papers, ribbons, jewels-gems-and-sequins, markers, alcohol blending markers, and trims in these same colors. They may not be exactly the same across different products. But they are close enough that you can use them to coordinate your designs! Check out a card that works with colors from different Collections. The combination was “suggested” by the patterned paper!

Fun Fact #3

You can purchase some products in a Color Collection all at once, or just one at a time! So, you may decide to buy cardstock in a Color Collection Assortment pack (which has a few sheets of each color in the Collection) or you can buy a pack containing just one color. The choice is yours!

Fun Fact #4

There are no rules in working with these colors. I’ve been known to mix colors that “don’t go together” but applying specific tips or techniques.

Fun Fact #5

Due to the previous 4 Fun Facts, working with Stampin’ Up! Colors is liberating. It really gives you an outlet for creativity! Truly.
