I probably make more holiday cards than birthday cards. But I definitely make more birthday card designs than holiday card designs. Here is a Festive Happy Birthday card for you.
By the way, did you remember that you can click on the photo of any of my projects to see it full size? Unless, of course, I’m already displaying it in full size =)
I started with the cupcake images from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. So fun. Plus, this photopolymer stamp set is part of the Stampin’ Up! Ronald McDonald House Charities campaign. $3 from the sale of each of these stamp sets is donated to RMHC. Just another way to do some good while supporting our hobby!
There are a lot of elements on this card that make is especially festive. Take a look.
The 4-1-1
- Hand-drawn lines enhance the candle light – I just drew some lines around the candle’s flame. They’re really easy to draw – no artistic ability required. Some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter make it really shine!
- Vary the colors – Did you realize that the 2 Candy Dots at the top left are Pink Pirouette, while the 2 Candy Dots at the lower right are Melon Mambo? It may not seem like much to you, But using more than one shade is outside the box for me! And isn’t it fun?
- Stamped and die-cut sentiment – the text is created with a combination of a die (from Hello You Thinlits) and a stamp (from Crazy About You stamp set). Looks really awesome! It also adds extra dimension.
One of the greatest features of the Crazy About You stamp set is that it comes in wood mount, clear mount and photopolymer. The choice is really yours. I bought this as a clear mount stamp set so that I could easily control where I stamp the words.
