Create the Best Card in Under 10 Minutes

Today, I’m going to show you how to create the best card in under 10 minutes. What makes it the “best card”? This card is:

  1. Easy – so it reduces your stress level.
  2. Fast – I mean, how can it be faster than 10 minutes?!?!
  3. Beautiful – there’s no point to making a card if it isn’t attractive.

Let’s Examine These Features

This card is so easy to stamp. All images and the sentiment come from one stamp set. I love when I can find everything that I need in one stamp set. (That’s the best part about stamp sets!) Besides that, I used only 2 colors of ink and cardstock. Both are shades of green. One is light & bright, while the other is deep and rich. They work perfectly together!

This card is so fast to assemble. It has only 3 layers of cardstock. The card base is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (or half a sheet of cardstock), scored at 4-1/4″. Next, the dark green layer is 3-3/4″ x 5″. Finally, the white layer is 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″. Thus, each layer is 1/2″ shorter and 1/2″ narrower than the layer beneath it. Pretty symmetrical. To make the card, you start by stamping the white layer. Then you score the bright green cardstock. Lastly, you glue the top 2 layers to the card base. F-A-S-T!!

The card is beautiful. There are several reasons I love the look of this card. First of all, the flowers and ribbon are gorgeous. The stamp set I used (Wishing You Well) is a DistINKtive one. This is a Stampin’ Up! patented type of rubber stamp that produces a multi-dimensional image. Look at the ribbon. Doesn’t it look like it’s made of organdy? Besides the images, this design has a lot of white space. It allows your eyes to “rest” as it looks from one stamped image/message to the next. Finally, as I explained earlier, the colors work well together. By the way, I ‘ve created lots of cards using this stamp set. I posted one in October – you can see it here.

Other Considerations about the Best Card

The colors used on this card are Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide. These are In Colors that will retired at the end of May… or when supplies run out.

Every year, I see the same thing. People really like the In Colors and plan to buy them. But they delay. Before you know it, the products run out. Don’t be disappointed. Be sure to buy your cardstock, ink, and accessories as soon as you get a chance.

By the way, the two 29017-2019 In Colors that my customers liked the best were Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide. In fact, I sold significantly more of these two colors (cardstock and ink) than of the other 3 combined. So, do I believe that we’ll run out of these two colors? You betcha!
