Can You Feel the Love?

I've been a card-maker for 8 years. I make cards for friends, acquaintances, relatives, and customers. But until last year, I never made a valentine for my husband! Silly, isn't it? And the reason I never made a card for him … I couldn't get past the pink-and-red thing. Well, now I make a valentine for him every year. and I never use the traditional colors!

I like his card to be special – one of a kind. Just like he is. And that's the point of the cards we make. They need to appeal to the recipient. So, here is this year's creation:

Valentine

To make this card, I used Sahara Sand as the card base. I love the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper, so it couldn't just sit in the background. I allowed it to peek through the punched out Hearts. A little bit of Basic Black accents to make the Bermuda Bay pop. Sentiment from the Well Scripted stamp set (Occasions mini catalog). Some sponging and Stampin' Dimensionals, and voila! A perfect valentine for my guy! He must like it – it's still sitting on his desk. (Tip: Guidelines drawn on the back of the cardstock keep them even!)

Tune in tomorrow for my tribute to our Olympic athletes!

This is terrific!! Manly but still artistic! And I know I said I don’t like stripes, but these I really do! And I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again — punches rock!!!!!
