How fun it is to build flowers from Blossoms and Doilies! These are probably the most unusual flowers I ever stamped.
I punched the flower blossoms by running Glossy White card stock through the Big Shot 113439 with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits L. Those are some of my favorite die-cut shapes ever! I glued on a circle of Pool Party card stock in the center and added a Regals Designer button. My stems are made from Linen Thread 104199 and the leaves are stamped from Build a Blossom stamp set.
By the way, I always say "A mistake is an opportunity for embellishment!" On today's card, I really mean it! The sentiment at the top right is from the Petite Pairs stamp set. When I stamped it in Night of Navy ink, I accidentally caught the right edge of the rubber on the card stock. As much as I tried, I couldn't pretend that the dark blue line wasn't noticeable. But what could I do?
I punched out the 3 little flowers with the Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. Then, on the inside, where I stamped the second half of the sentiment, I attached 3 more little flowers. A cohesive design and no one knows that I messed up! Well, no one except all my readers. Sheesh. I never was any good at keeping a secret!
Finally, I want to talk about the Designer Series Paper I chose – I was surprised to see this pattern in Comfort Cafe. So nice. I wish it came in every color! It is so "neutral" in nature, that it doesn't interfere with the rest of the design. And it certainly adds more interest that just a solid piece of card stock, doesn't it?
This card was so simple to make, even though it has so many layers. The layers make it look like I took hours. And the different textures make it so special! I think I need to make up a bunch more, for all sorts of occasions!
It definitely was fun to build these flowers from Blossoms and Doilies!
Absolutely! I’d have almost no stamps in my collection if it weren’t for the flowers 😉
fun flowers- thinking out of the box! And we always need more flowers!
