The Beauty of 3-Step Stamping

I have always loved 2-step stamping. But now I can enjoy the beauty of 3-step stamping, thanks to the Lotus Blossom stamp set in Sale-A-Bration. Beside being GORGEOUS, you can earn it for free during this sales promotion. Kind of like the best of two worlds!!

Lotus Blosson, the first 3-step stamp experience - http://stampedimpression.comI stamped the petals of this flower using two inks, Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum. But if you look closely, it looks like I used more colors. That, my friends, is due to the magic of 3-step stamping!

I stamped the “bottom” 2 layers in Perfect Plum and the “top” layer in Elegant Eggplant. Click on the photo and take a closer look. It’s definitely a “kewl” effect! (Or, a cool effect for those of us who are a little older…)

The bow was created by punching a small piece of Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper with the Bow Builder Punch. Then I attached a Pearl Basic Jewel in the middle of the bow. How cute!!

Because of the detail in the flower and the bow, I chose to keep the rest of the card pretty simple. I punched a scallop in one layer of matting. I used Gorgeous Grunge to add some texture to the backgrounds on the card stock.

The key design element I chose was a thin white mat. I used this twice. With the Sahara Sand card base, the white added some POP. Plus, it repeated the key color in the focal image.

The major player in this card design is the 3-step stamped flower. Love it! So easy to create with the Lotus Blossom stamp set!

  1. So pretty! Great color combo and what an AWESOME stamp! I haven’t played with mine much yet but I’m going to! All that snow outside will find me warm and snug in my craft room for hours and hours and hours and hours!

    1. Unfortunately, I think we’re going to have a lot of weather-induced craft time this winter LOL.

As for the Lotus Blossom… you have to play with it. I keep finding more and more color combinations that I like for it! 😉
