An Easy Watercolor Card Design

Watercoloring is hot! Everyone is doing it. While there are a lot of tips I can show you, the best way to get started is by using the Happy Watercolor stamp set. Today I’m using it to show you an easy watercolor card design!

An Easy Watercolor Card DesignThe best part of this stamp set are the watercolor “shapes” that it includes. When I first saw this stamp set, I thought, “This is so dumb. Who would ever want to use this stamp set?” Obviously, I changed my mind! (Never say never…)

I started by inking up the watercolor shape really well with Calypso Coral ink. Then I stamped it three times, without applying more ink. That leads to the watercolor look.

I stamped the flower twice in Basic Black ink, once on the card base and once on a scrap of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock. I cut out the flower head and attached to the card base using a Stampin’ Dimensional and inserted a Pearl Basic Jewel in the center. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Celebrate stamp set.

I’m so happy with this card design. It’s simple, clean and to-the-point. In fact, I believe I’ll make a stack of these in different colors, just to keep on hand. It’s really an easy watercolor design!
