Hello Ladybug - stamped impression

A Fun Purple Ladybug!

A Fun Purple Ladybug! That’s what today’s card is designed to showcase. Ladybugs really don’t need to be black and red, you know. 🙂

It’s fun to use colors that are unexpected!

This card uses a classic layout – 2 layers of cardstock, all centered on the card base.

Then I took out my Hello Ladybug stamp set.

I stamped each set of flowers twice, giving different shades of purple. Specifically Highland Heather. I think this is lots more interesting than having all flowers stamped in exactly the same shade.

I used a pop of color in the sentiment. While the entire card has shades of purple, the sentiment is stamped and matted in a bright pink. Berry Burst. Isn’t that pretty?

But, the best part is neither the classic layout nor the pop of color. Can you guess what it is?

It’s the purple ladybug, of course!! I just love it!

The body is made from Gorgeous Grape cardstock. The wings are stamped with Gorgeous Grap Classic Stampin’ Ink on Highland Heather cardstock. It’s all punched out using the Ladybug Builder Punch.

I also stamped a few flowers on the inside of the card. It makes the design seem more “complete”, yet leaves lots of room for a personal, hand-written note.

Want more ladybug inspiration?

Well, I have two things that you can do.

First, check out the blog post where I used the same stamp set and builder punch. In fact, I used them in a few different ways. Click on the photo below to see that post.

Then, in tomorrow’s newsletter, I stepped up the card design a bit. So, be sure to sign up for my newsletter today and you’ll see what I did. To sign up for my newsletter, click on the link at the top of the right hand column.

Ladybugs bring lots of luck. It doesn’t matter if theyre black and red, or purple!
