I Can’t Believe I Did That!

I was working on a card for today's blog post, when the telephone rang, I took the call, then absent-mindedly returned to my card. I was sponging the butterfly when I was interrupted. When I picked up the sponge again, I started to use another color of ink. Aggh!

FlightOfTheButterfly01

The butterfly was supposed to be sponged in Perfect Plum, but I mixed in Riding Hood Red. I know that it looks just fine, but that wasn't the look I was trying to accomplish. Oh, well. It's done and I'll keep it. What do you think?

I love to experiment with color combinations. But sometimes, I run out of ideas. I took today's colors directly from the Stampin' Up! Color Coach. I'm very pleased, especially because I use Perfect Plum and Riding Hood Red so rarely!

Check out the butterfly. I stamped the smaller one using Flight of the Butterfly. The other was punched with the Butterfly Punch, and run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. There are 2 small Basic Pearl Jewels and the whole thing is attached to the card with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Sometimes, I just need a note card. But I hope no one minds the unusual sponging!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
Sandi

Well, look at you! Even your mistakes are masterpieces! Now that’s talent! Love the color combination — very bold. I need to venture out of my comfort zone like and try something new and exciting! Onward, to the craft room!
