The perfect birthday toast, to me, usually refers to chocolate cake and ice cream. But when I saw this stamp, I thought that maybe there is an even cuter, fun, perfect birthday toast. What do you think?
Isn’t this fun? I don’t even drink – except for the occasional glass of wine – and I find this stamp to be so very cute and fun!
The stamp is from the Making Spirits Bright set, which you can find in the Holiday Catalog. This set shows a few interesting sentiments. How about “Giving thanks … that you’re hosting instead of me!” There are many times I could use this one – LOL.
The colors I chose are a little unusual for me – Calypso Coral and Pool Party. Who would have thought that they could go together so well?!?! Okay, separating them with thin Basic Black matting helped a lot.
Adding strips of “neutral” gold also helped. For the gold, I used the Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape. I love the gold. So rich.
The 4-1-1
- As I hinted above, small bits of Basic Black allow you to combine colors that you normally wouldn’t put side-by-side. It provides a separation that makes things easier on your eyes!
- Washi Tape can be repositioned. So, I could experiment with the placement of the Washi Tape strips. Just don’t press down on it, until you’re ready to commit. That means, Washi Tape reduces stress while you design cards!
- Stampin’ Dimensionals under the tag layers prevent them from moving and flopping around. After all, I didn’t want to spill a drop!
Using this stamp was outside my comfort zone. Why don’t we all commit to trying something “wild” this week in our card making? Leave a comment and let me know how you did!
That’s how I came up with the Perfect Birthday Toast!!
Cute and clever! I really like how the washi tape looks like it has champagne “bubbles” in it! So are you hosting this year????? 😀
It’s really clever. But I’m not hosting. One of the other sentiments in the set says, “Giving thanks … that you’re hosting instead of me!” Lol!!
Love this! I feel like my birthday cards have been looking the same for awhile- nice change!
This stamp set is certainly fresh and new. Check it out!
