When rubber stamps match a handheld punch, card making becomes much easier. That allows you to finish a project ever so quickly, or to spend a little more time on some of the other embellishments. Take a look at today’s project.
I started this card by stamping 3 flowers from Mixed Bunch, then sponging the edges. Colors are Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight. Although these colors are both part of the Brights Collection, together they have an almost earthy tone. Don’t you think so?
I ran the larger rectangle of Bermuda Bay through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Stamping Daffodil Delight flowers on the card stock of the same color adds more texture without the bulk.
Finally, I tied a knot in the strand of Daffodil Delight 1/2″ Seam Binding, before attaching it to the card front. I also inserted a Summer Starfruit In Color Dahlia in one flower. Some similarly stamped flowers on the inside and the envelope flap finish the project!
There is another interesting design feature of this card. I showed it to my daughters to receive some feedback – they always have good ideas – and one thought that this card should have been in the landscape orientation. Take a look.
I can’t decide which I prefer. What do you think? Please leave a comment and let me know! Please help us out!
Whichever way you like this card best, when rubber stamps match a handheld punch, card making becomes much easier!
Darn, I like them both!! But I think I do like it in landscape better. Except I think I’d put the flowers on the left and the ribbon on the right. Guess I must be having fall out from “Left Handers Day”??
Left Handers Day may be the culprit. But I agree that th eplacement needs some adjustment if it’s to be a landscape design. That’s why I chose portrait!
Thanks for the feedback!
