Today’s card design started with the punches. When is a Flower not a Flower? When it’s a Scallop Circle, of course!
This card design started with the punches. I wanted to punch flower shapes but the punches I have are either too big or too small. I didn’t feel like using my Big Shot/ What to do? Then it hit me. Why not use the 1-1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch?
Colors on this project are Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple and Pool Party. (I’m absolutely delighted that Pool Party is becoming one of the core colors!) I stamped and punched 3 scallop circles from scraps of Pool Party card stock. I sponged the edges of each “flower”. Then I punched another scallop circle in the larger rectangle of Pool Party. I stamped the image on the Raspberry Ripple in the layer below. The Pool Party layer was attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Pretty cool, isn’t it?
Have you ever done that? I mean, substituted one shape for an entirely different one? Please leave a comment and let me know.
I know some creative crafters that like to make punch art, but I’m not so good at that. But I can always design a flower from just about anything! So, when is a flower not a flower? When it’s a scallop circle!
