Snowflake Wishes on National Navy Day

What Does Navy Mean to You?

What Does Navy Mean to You?

I checked on the National Day Calendar, as I often do, and it said that today is National Navy Day. I figured Night of Navy, the color from Stampin’ Up! How was I to know it’s to celebrate the naval forces?

In spite of that, I’m sharing a card where I use the color Night of Navy. It’s one of my favorite in the Neutrals Color Collection. And all my regular followers know that blue is my all time, best, favorite color! By the way, what’s yours?

Snowflake Wishes on National Navy Day

This card uses some of the best tools for a winter card. They are all described in the 4-1-1.

The 4-1-1

  • Navy-and-White – nothing says a crisp, sunny, beautiful snowy winter day better than the combination of Night of Navy and Whisper White. And, yes, winter can be VERY beautiful!
  • Ribbon adds beautiful texture – besides the shine, the strand of ribbon adds some interesting texture to the card. But it’s absolutely flat, making it easy to send in the mail!

A note about ribbon

I’ve been using ribbon a lot lately. I think it adds a special touch to a card.

Most of the time, I tie a knot or a bow. Those are beautiful elements that suit so many cards.

But you can also keep the ribbon flat, as I did today. That’s my latest favorite thing to do with ribbon. What do you think about that? Leave a comment and let us know.

Final words on National Navy Day

Maybe a card design that’s better for National Navy Day, is one that I shared just over a year ago. Click here to read the entire post.
