Winter Vintage Card – a perfect project for a cold winter day! Now that winter has finally arrived in the Midwest, I'm ready to work on that season's designs!
I started this design by stamping the image from Winter Post on Watercolor Paper with StazOn Jet Black Ink. Then, using my Aqua Painter, I added some faint ink to the skaters and the ice beneath their feet.
One of the coolest features on this card, is the embossing on the Very Vanilla background. I ran the card stock through my Big Shot with the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Usually, I sponge ink on the side with the raised images. But if I did that, my snowflakes would be the color of the ink. Instead, today, I turned the card stock over so that the snowflakes are depressed. Then I ran my Brayer over the whole thing with Bashful Blue ink. I purposely did not brayer evenly, so that it made my card look even more vintage. And I added Basic Jewel Pearls. What do you think?
Here is a closer view.
This only goes to show you that you don't need to do things the same way every day 😀
Now that I'm happy with my result, I think that I'll make a warm cup of cocoa and enjoy my Winter Vintage Card!
Until next time,
Sandi
So sweet and simple but with the wow factor in the inked dry embossing!! I confess to being cowardly where coloring images are concerned. Inevitably, I am nearly finished and then make an irreversible mistake and shriek and stomp and either start over (occasionally) or toss it and get a different stamp (usually). Sigh.
