Vintage + Fun = YOUNG

I discovered that if I mix Vintage + Fun designs on a card, I get a FRESH LOOK = YOUNG! Who would have thought?

Dry embossing, Stampin' Dimensionals, sponging and a brad add depth!

Stamp set is the the Fresh Vintage set from the 2012 Sale-A-Bration promotion. I thought I would design another vintage flower card. But then I thought about Calypso Coral and Pool Party. They are really fun colors, so I set to work. This card illustrates that you can mix different styles on one project, as long as there is an element/elements to tie the design together.

On this card, the patters do the work for me, by tying together the vintage and modern designs. Patterns are found in the stamp images, the dry embossing, the Designer Series Paper and the Brad in the center of the circle. Isn't that fun?

But there is something else very special about this card…

I used a new tool – my Circle Cutter. I admit that I purchased it when Stampin' Up! introduced it in last year's catalog. But I used it for the first time this week. Shameful, isn't it? However, I made an interesting discovery. It's a great tool! In fact, next week, I'm going to post a video showing how easy it is to use and offer some tips!

Well, it's the weekend, so I want to start winding down. Enjoy the sunny weather – at least, I hope it's sunny where you live! And if you're looking for something different to try in the craft room this weekend, think about Vintage + Fun = YOUNG!
