Use this design for an easy card. Any time of year. Don’t you need a stash of these cards that you can easily make for a variety of occasions?
It is so simple to put together. I’ve used this general layout before. But because I vary the number of layers, and the occasion, you probably don’t even realize that you’ve seen it before! In fact, here is a card from over 2 years ago!
The 4-1-1
These are the main design “elements” of this card:
- Panel on the left – I attached a piece of cardstock, equal to the height of the card and more than half the width. While it’s patterned, it isn’t too busy.
- Matt of focal point – The Night of Navy cardstock matt contrasts with the rest of the card.
- Simple focal point – The focal point has a simple design, with a knotted ribbon. The ribbon and the matt both enhance the focal point.
I’m not sure why I this design appeals to me so much, but it really does! What do you think?
And to use it for other occasions, just change up the colors and the sentiments. Super easy!
More Retiring Items
The stamp set I chose it Just Because. This is one of the hostess sets in the Occasions Catalog. It, too, will retire with this catalog.
You can’t buy a hostess set, but you can earn it. It can be purchased with your Host Rewards from either a personal purchase or workshop/party for $150 or more. Something to consider… Check out the full hostess set here.
The 3/8″ Calypso Coral Satin Ribbon is also from the Occasions catalog. (Note that the other “orange” used on this card is Grapefruit Grove. This is proof that you can mix and match colors!
Finally, the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is also from the Occasions Catalog. This paper is so fun. I think I’m going to miss it the most!
Rooted in Nature
To me, Rooted in Nature is almost a “neutral” stamp set. Its images can be mixed with so many other sets. I found the little sprigs of leaves worked so well with Just Because. I simply had to use them on the background of the card front!
The Composition
This card is a mix of a classic design, with both “old” and “new” elements. Putting it together was FUN. That’s the reason I got into rubber stamping.
But most of all, putting it all together was EASY. That’s due to the design of the products! That’s the reason I got into Stampin’ Up!
So, the next chance you can, use this design for an easy card!
