Since it's already March, I'm hoping that the end of winter is not far away. I'm tired of the typical snowflakes. For that reason I designed this snow swirled card in non-traditional colors! Take a closer look.
I was asked to make a simple card design, but to make sure it wasn't boring. Hmmm. That always worries me. But it was really easy to come up with this design. I started with the snowflakes from the Snow Swirled stamp set. I punched each out with the Postage Stamp Punch and then attached on a 1-3/8" Square Punch mat. I staggered the squares, and attached them to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Pretty simple, but still kind of a traditional design.
To add interest, I made good use of my Big Shot. The background was embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The little flag banner at the bottom was cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Die with the sentiment mounted on it.
However, it's my color selection that is different from the typical snowflake card. I decided to mix Pink Pirouette with Night of Navy. I love that combination!
So that' it. This is my snow swirled card in non-traditional colors. Do you always stick with a typical color combination? Leave a comment below and let us know!
Funny. I usually pretend that the snowflakes are really stars in the sky!
Very pretty and non-traditional and I’m pretending that the snowflakes are just star-shaped flowers! Because I am SOOOOO over snow!!! That postage stamp punch is on my “next” list. It’s great for adding layers without just square upon square (which isn’t all that bad, either).
