I’m a strong supporter of ensuring that we simplify the card assembly. Otherwise, making hand stamped cards is stressful. Who needs that?
I’ve seen tons of these cards. You know, where you stamp a bunch of flowers on the card front, then cut out the shapes, and then all kinds of layers above and below. Just reading about these “techniques” makes me want to walk away from the craft room… quickly. Not necessary.
For this card, I cut the usual card base, then trimmed away an extra inch along the right border of the card front. I stamped some flowers and leaves on the card front. Then I stamped flowers in 2 different in colors on scrap card stock in the same color of the card front. I punched these out with the corresponding Stampin’ Up! punch. Finally, I attached the flowers to the card base, making sure to use Stampin’ Dimensionals on only a couple of them. It took me less than 5 minutes.
I had some extra punched flowers, so I added a darker one to the inside, leaving it visible from the front when the card is closed. I also added one on the left, because I had some glue showing from the flower on the card front. I could have easily removed it with the Adhesive Remover, 103684 but adding a punched flower was even faster!
Stamped sets used today are Flower Shop, Betsy’s Blossoms and Delightful Dozen. Colors are Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry and Wild Wasabi. The 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon was the only embellishment I added.
I challenge anyone to say that a complicated version of this card is any nicer. However, feel free to leave a comment. Or copy it and share it – any kind of Social Media is acceptable. I still choose to simplify the card assembly!
Thanks. I LOVE that you CASE my cards. Really!
Look at you, embracing the Pink!!! I’m impressed! (pssst, I’m not a huge fan of pink, myself.)
I’ve seen this technique done before, too, and all that fussy-cutting! Yuck!! I like your system MUCH better! It’s quicker! And it looks fantastic!!! I guess you know that I’ll be CASE-ing you (again)!!!
