I miss my circles. Many of you know that I often relied on a stamp set of circles for my cards. I was feeling the void in my card design, but then realized something important. Just because that stamp set retired doesn’t mean that I no longer have Go-To circles available to me. They just need to take another form. That’s when I realized I could make simple circles from Delicate Doilies!
I stamped one of the large doilies three times on a scrap of Whisper White card stock, then punched out the center using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. I mounted them on a strip of Night of Navy card stock, then attached to the card front. Did you notice the dry embossing along the bottom of the card front? I made that using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool and the Simply Scored Borders Plate!
A sentiment from Sweet Essentials, a few flowers punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, and tiny Pearl Basic Jewel, and I was done. So quick!
I even punched an extra circle that I glued on the inside. This card literally took minutes to make. Not every card needs 6 or more layers! What do you think? Do you need a stash of simple cards that you can make quickly? Let me know what designs you find useful, by leaving a comment.
I’m delighted to be able to make simple circles from delicate doilies!!
Another winner! The bitty yellow flowers are my favorite! Almost missed the little embossing on the bottom behind your watermark. Nice touch!
Thanks. the embossing along the bottom proves that every element doesn’t need to jump out.
Love that it is cute and interesting yet simple to make- once you’ve come up with the idea for us! Thx Sandy- always love your designs.
Thank you, Karen. I love the project design phase the most. It’s fun to try new things!
