Here is a great tip to distinguish your hand made card from one of those impersonal, store-bought printed ones. Make them special: Never send a naked envelope again. Here are 2 envelopes that I used today.
I started with the Stampin' Up! Whisper White Medium Envelopes. Then I stamped a flower on each, using the Oh, Hello stamp set from the Spring Catalog. I inked the rubber with Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery Subtles Stampin' Write Markers. The flowers match images that were stamped on the cards.
I could have left the envelopes blank/naked. But that is SO boring. The recipient will find it boring. Ho-hum. Just another store-bought card. Exactly like a gazillion other cards that other people send. Perhaps just like another card I receive for this occasion. Ho-hum.
But the added hand stamped touch on the envelope is so special. The recipient knows that it's special. Anticipation builds before you know it, before the envelope is opened!
I like to stamp my envelopes. If the card is hand-delivered, like these, I often stamp on the front. However, if it's being delivered by the U.S. Postal Service, I prefer to stamp either the flap or someplace on the back. That way, nothing interferes with the post office handling and timely delivery.
(Note: Some of you may be asking why I'm not showing the cards inside the envelopes. They are my daughters' birthday cards. I don't want to spoil the surprise, so you will need to wait until after their birthday! And, yes, they are twins!)
So, the next time you send a hand made card, stamp the envelope. Make it special. Never send a naked envelope again!
