Happy National Chocolate Day!
Now this is something worth celebrating! And it definitely deserves a hand stamped card!
Say it with a card
What makes this card so well suited to National Chocolate Day? Here are a few reasons:
- It includes hand stamped images of yummy chocolate – kind of obvious, isn’t it?
- It’s fast and easy to put together – always a requirement, especially when you only just discover that today is a card-worthy day!
- It has some unexpected WOW elements – the sentiment is popped up and that ribbon… Could you find it in the catalog?!?!?
I’ll tell you a bit later in this post where I “found” the ribbon!
Don’t forget the inside
While the card front has a critically important message, don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card! After all, it’s even more fun that way!
What about that bow???
If I hadn’t pointed it out, would you have noticed? I mean, you would have noticed the bow. But did you realize that it’s NOT in the current catalog?
What???? As I demo, am I allowed to do that?
Okay, calm down. The ribbon is in the catalog. Sort of. It’s actually made from White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon! I colored it with Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin’ Ink! It’s all current product. Phew!
How did I do it?
Here’s my ribbon coloring technique...
I cut a length of ribbon. I started with 8 inches. Next, I laid the ribbon on my work surface, inked up a Sponge Dauber, and then applied the Sponge Dauber to one end of the ribbon. Keeping it under the Sponge Dauber, I slowly pulled the ribbon. When I ran out of ink, I repeated, from the spot where the ink became light. At the end, I then repeated the whole thing on the other side of the ribbon.
It’s a little messy, but not overly so. And I have ribbon that matches the other elements on my card. How cool is that?
Hmmm. Maybe I should record a quick video to demonstrate that!
To summarize
