My First Halloween Card of the Year!

Here is my first Halloween card of the year! Although I received my Holiday catalog ages ago, this week was the first time that I actually used any of the products. It feels so early to be thinking about the holidays. So, I decided to start in easy and work on a Halloween card!

My first Halloween card of the yearIt’s a pretty traditional card design, but has updated touches to make it fresh and new. I started with the Toil & Trouble stamp set from the Holiday mini. I stamped, heat embossed and cut out the sentiment using the Big Shot and the Apothecary Accents Framelit.

Just for fun, I added the witch from Halloween Hello. I punched her out, matted her and added a little Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter. She’s real cute and not very scary!

The other new touch is the use of Basic Black 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon.

Of course I attached it “upside down” to my original design intention. But this way works, too, I believe 🙂

In any case, this card was a lot of fun to make. Definitely an easy way to start on all the holiday preparations that will come my way.

I intend to send this card to a friend who LOVES Halloween. She deserves my first Halloween card of the year!
