More #imbringingbirthdaysback

I make birthday cards all the time. They’re among my favorite designs. Today I’m showing 2 birthday designs – one for a woman and one for a man. It’s more #imbringingbirthdaysback!

Let’s start with the masculine card.

#imbringingbirthdaysback - http://stampedimpression.comSimple and flat, making it easy and inexpensive to mail. I used only geometrics and textures. And it’s monochromatic. Here is how I made it:

  1. Smoky Slate card base (5-1/2” x 8-1/2”). Folded in half.
  2. Basic Black card stock layer (3-7/8” x 5-1/8”) – Set aside.
  3. Whisper White card stock layer (3-3/4” x 5”) – Stamped hexagons in Smoky Slate ink. Attached to layer from step #2.
  4. Wrapped black ribbon around card stock, securing on back. Attached to card base.
  5. Punched hexagon from scrap Basic Black.
  6. Stamped sentiment in black ink on scrap Whisper White. Stamped random spots in Smoky Slate ink. Punched hexagon. Attached to layer from step #5.
  7. Attached hexagons to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

By the way, using a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig made it easy to precisely place the stamped hexagons on the card front.

To change this card for a woman, you only need to change up the colors. That is what I started to do. But then I felt I needed a flower.

#imbringingbirthdaysback - http://stampedimpression.comBefore I knew it, here the second card that I made:

  1. Whisper White card base (5-1/2” x 8-1/2”).
  2. Cherry Cobbler card stock layer (layer (3-7/8” x 5-1/8”).
  3. Whisper White card stock layer (3-3/4” x 5”).
  4. Cherry Cobbler card stock layer ( x “) – Set aside.
  5. Whisper White card stock layer ( x “) – Stamped sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink. Attach to layer from step #4.
  6. Stamped hexagons on scrap Whisper White. Punched hexagons and attached to card front.
  7. Punched flower from scrap Cherry Cobbler. Attached to card front with Stampin’ Dimensional.
  8. Stamped flower on scrap Whisper White. Punched out and attached on top of flower from step #7.

These cards look very different from each other, but I see them as having the same design!
