More Doilies! Now that I started to play with these, I can't get enough!
There is so much detail in the doily from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper, that the rest of the card has to be simple. Your eyes need a place to rest, otherwise, the card is exhausting. So, when I made this card, I used only solid card stock. I added Melon Mambo 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon and three Silver Brads, but it was too stark.
To soften the whole look, I sponged different shades of blue on the Whisper White background. Much better. Sponging always adds something interesting to a card!
Finally, I didn't like the main doily just hanging in space. So, I took one of the smaller pieces between the large doilies on the paper and cut it to fit in the corner, while reaching the main doily. What do you think?
The card desgin still needs a little work. Maybe this weekend. Just think … a weekend with More Doilies! How fun!
