I know that many of us (i.e. women) make most of our cards for other women. But when it comes to cards for the men in our lives, many tend to cut back on the extra TLC. Today’s project shows a masculine birthday card – plain and boring no more!
Colors are “typically masculine” – Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip. (Hmmm. Those make a great pair of flavors, don’t you think?!) I ran the top layer of card stock through the Big Shot with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Straight lines always look masculine. Linen thread wound across the bottom is still typically masculine. It’s not frilly ribbon, after all.
Then I pulled out the Four Frames stamp set. Because of the design of the other images in this set, I never think of it when looking for something less feminine. But the polka dot frame is perfect. With the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, a couple of Silver 1/8″ Mini Brads and Stampin’ Dimensionals, and this card is done ever so quickly.
But doesn’t it look like it took longer to assemble? Impresses my guy for sure!
This type of card doesn’t have to be flat and without personality. How do you handle cards for men and boys? Leave a comment and let me know.
For me, a masculine birthday card – plain and boring no more!
