Do you want to know how to make a simple birthday card? I’ve been working on some more elaborate cards lately, for a variety of reasons. But I need some quick ones, too. I decided to work on this one, keeping in mind the busy card maker!
What makes this card simple is that it is only one layer and is super-quick to put together. So let’s get started.
The way to keep it simple and quick is to take advantage of the new tools and accessories. Think about it. You can sew by hand. But use a sewing machine and much of the work can happen faster.
The 4-1-1
- Use bundles that combine stamps and die cuts – On this card I used the bundle containing Celebrate Today stamp set and the Balloon Framelits Dies. Not only is this quick and handy – it saves you 15 percent over buying the 2 items separately. Win-Win.
- Use Washi Tape to add design – This little strip is from Beach House Designer Washi Tape in the annual catalog. Cute and fun! Don’t forget quick!
- For added speed, use a Stampin’ Write Marker – I wanted some balloon strings. The fastest way to add these was to grab a black marker and draw a squiggly line. There is no way to draw a squiggle incorrectly. Trust me. And it’s quick!
On top of everything else, this card is FLAT, making it perfect to send via U.S. Postal Service mail without an extra stamp.
By the way, the red Woohoo banner was made by stamping the image from Big News and cutting it out. I’m not a fan of fussy-cutting, but this was really quick. (Do you see today’s theme?!)
How long did it take me to make this card? Less than 10 minutes. But it’s so cute. In fact, I’d show it to you in person, but it’s already in the mail box!
That’s how you make a simple birthday card!
Quick and simple yet so festive! Great card!
Thank you, Karen!
