It’s the holidays! Time for celebration and fun and everything special. Nothing makes a card more special than a touch of B-L-I-N-G!!! Let’s see how to make an Ornament Card with Bling!
This card is an example of “Less is More”. The design is simple. It allows each element to make a strong statement. A perfect card. And it has plenty of bling!
The card base is made of layers of Night of Navy and Smoky Slate card stock. Basic. Elegant. Sophisticated.
Then you have the ornaments. I cut these out by running specialty paper through the Big Shot with the Delicate Ornament Thinlit Dies. The ornament on the left is Silver Glimmer Paper. The one on the right is Holiday Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. That’s all you need.
Here’s a tip for making the glimmer ornament: When making your “sandwich” for the Big Shot, be sure to lay the paper glitter side down. You’ll get a sharper cut and very easily!
Here’s a tip for making the Fancy Foil Vellum ornament: Cut a second ornament from Whisper White card stock. Attach the vellum layer on top of the card stock, by running SNAIL Adhesive under the thick red stripes. You can then pop it up by attaching it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The vellum would be too soft to attach in this way.
By the way, “in real life” the vellum ornament is pure white. The reflective nature of the vellum makes it photograph in light gray. Sigh.
There you have it. A simple – yet special – ornament card made with lots of BLING! Happy Holidays!!
