Many of you know that I’m part of a figure skating family. My daughters skated for 18 years; my husband is a figure skating action photographer; I’m an official. Do you know that most competition skating dresses have a lot of glitter on them? Several thousand Swarovski crystals is probably the minimum number.
Glimmer Paper on my cards is like using Swarovski crystals!
While I don’t use my Silver Glimmer Paper a lot, I do save it for special occasions. And what’s more special than a birthday wish?
Colors used are Mint Macaron – with a touch of black and white to make the silver glitter stand out. See how well it worked!
The sentiment is from Party Wishes, one of the most fun stamp sets in the Occasions catalog. I stamped it on Whisper White card stock, and then punched it out with the 1-1/2” Circle Punch. I used the Scallop Circle Punch on the Silver Glimmer Paper. Finally, I mounted the entire thing on the 2” Basic Black circle, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. So fun!
And then, I goofed. I got carried away and used Silver Cording Trim from the Holiday catalog. It’s retired 🙁
I should have used the Basic Black/Mint Macaron Baker’s Twine, or the Silver Metallic Thread. What was I thinking?! Lol!
The other fun element on this card is the textured stamping design on the card front. Do you recognize it? Look closely. It’s the leaf veins from Botanical Blooms. Besides loving flowers on my card designs, I’ve just proven that they are most useful! (Just in case you’re trying to justify purchasing another flower set! Sh-h-h-h.)
And that explains one more reason you should buy Stampin’ Up! products. You have access to an independent demonstrator (that’s ME) who can show you how to best use your products and justify the purchase of more!
In all seriousness, this glittery card design was so easy to make. It’s becomes so quick to Make a Wish with Glimmer Paper!
