I love birthday cake. Especially when it’s chocolate!! So, I’m starting off the month of September celebrating birthdays and cake… Here’s my card design showing #imbringingbirthdaysback With a Sweet Cupcake!
Okay, so this looks more like a vanilla cupcake. But the frosting is definitely chocolate 😀
I made this card using the Sweet Cupcake stamp set from the catalog. I used only 2 layers for the cake itself. But I used delicious layers of stamping for that chocolatey-goodness frosting! (Can you tell what’s my favorite part?!?!?)
The cupcake parts were cut out using the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits and my handy-dandy Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine. I used a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals under the cake. Then I used 4 Stampin’ Dimensionals, with two on top of the other, under the frosting. Yummy, don’t you think?
I could have stamped the sentiment from the same set, but for some reason (?!?!) I wanted something a little bigger. So, I turned to the Crazy About You stamp set. It was perfect for my card!
I miss lining my envelopes with the retired Framelits. So, sometimes, I cover the envelope flap with Designer Series Paper. To do this, just trace the flap onto the paper. Then carefully cut it out. Pretty simple. And quite forgiving if your hand is a little shakey! Have a look here.
Don’t forget to keep sending people hand-stamped birthday cards. Way more fun than email wishes!! Be part of the movement to bring birthdays back. #imbringingbirthdaysback With a Sweet Cupcake!
