I Like Orange & Brown Leaves

Many of you know that my favorite color is blue. Green is a close second …. maybe because of all the flower stamps I own. I've never been very fond of orange, but that's changing.

As part of my stamping business, I have the opportunity to explore my creativity. I'm designing many more projects than I ever have before. And even though Stampin' Up! offers 6 shades of blue in their new Color Collections, if I didn't branch out, I would become bored.

So, I've been working with fall colors … and enjoying every minute of it!

  FrenchFoliage01

This card is made using the French Foliage stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. The leaf in the center was stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  The rest of the colors are Naturals Ivory, Peach Parfait (one of the In Colors) and Early Espresso. I used 1/8" Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon. A little tearing and sponging … Isn't the total effect elegant? By the way, the patterned paper is from the Designer Series Paper Pack, a Level 1 Hostess Gift. It can be yours for free, if you host a $150 workshop!

So, even though I started out not liking orange, now I really like to pair it with brown! What colors do you like to combine with orange? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

I feel the same way about orange and am learning to embrace its rich and vibrant hues. Combining it with shades of brown helps to tone down some of the intensity and make it easier on the eye. And yes, Sandi, I am kicking myself for not ordering this set!
