I {Heart} My Friend. I've tried to tell my daughters for years that it should be I Love My Friend, but, of course, they know best. So, as I ease into Valentine's Day, I decided to follow their lead!
This card, of course, is made using the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set. I don't use it often, because I'm not sure how much people like to receive cards with hearts all over them. But, somehow, this card feels okay to me!
The colors were inspired by an article in Home Made Simple. They talk about using Jewel tones. In my mind, Jewel tones = Regals collection. Yet these colors were taken directly from the article. And there is only one a Regal color in the set. I chose Pacific Point (Bold), More Mustard (Regal) and Baja Breeze (Subtle). Go figure.
The striped paper is from the Subtles Collection Paper Stack. I chose stripes because I wanted a tailored look. In spite of the ribbon (Baja Breeze 1/2" Seam Binding) tied in a bow, I think this card is not too "froo froo".
I tied the bow on the horizontal stripe of card stock and attached the punched heart on top using a Mini Glue Dot. I needed the glue dot for a strong hold.
Have you started to think about Valentine's cards yet? I try to make a card every year for my husband, but it's not a big holiday for me. However, I make cards for so many people, that I feel I should make one for my favorite guy! (Of course, his won't say "friend", even though he's my best friend!)
So, that's all I can say about I {Heart} My Friend. Maybe I should send card to a friend, so that she knows how I feel!
Until next time,
Sandi
