Today’s card demonstrates hugs for you from the garden in bloom!
I’m definitely in a KISS design phase – (KISS = Keep It Simple & Sweet). I like the uncluttered lines. I LOVE that there isn’t a lot of “stuff” to fall off and get ruined. And I really prefer a monochromatic (or almost monochromatic) color scheme.
The focal point of this card is the die-cut Hugs in the circle. To make it, I began by die-cutting the sentiment in the circle from the Lovely Words Thinlits. Then I took that piece and die-cut it in a slightly larger circle from the Layering Circles Framelits.
I attached it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. That pops up the piece a little, making it even more important to the design. But here is what I learned today…
I cut 2 Stampin’ Dimensionals into 4 pieces each. The die-cut piece is very narrow and the Stampin’ Dimensionals are thicker. But I should have used our new Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. They make the gluing even faster and you don’t get sticky stuff all over your scissors.
Supplies I Used to Make this Project
This card is another example of how to include an unexpected focal point as part of a simple design. It’s the unexpected! And it’s hugs from the garden in bloom!
