Scrapbookers have been doing it for years. What do you do if you want your project to have a specific title or greeting, but you don’t have the correct stamp for it? Why, just create your own custom greeting. That’s what I did on today’s project, using an alphabet stamp set and my hadnwriting.
Colors on this card are Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay (new!) and Pool Party (also new!)! I stamped the word Happy on white card stock before mounting it on Rich Razzleberry. Then I hand wrote in a kind of fancy script beneath it. If you look carefully, my handwriting is not perfect. But it’s perfect for this card!
The background flowers are from the Betsy’s Blossoms stamp set. I also used a little of the script from Postage Due on the middle layer of the 3 scallop circle flowers. Did realize that I punched the leaves using the Big Shot and the Little Leaves Sizzlets?
Besides making my custom greeting, I made my own custom colors. I’ve never seen Razzleberry leaves, even in the fall. The point that I’m making, is that in the world of rubber stamping, there is much opportunity for fun and creativity. All you need to do is let loose a little!
So, the next time you need a custom greeting, grab an alphabet stamp set and some pens – or just grab some pens – and make your own custom greeting. It will WOW your friends!
Drat, I thought I already commented on this card – sorry! Love, love, love the color combination!!! You are single-handedly responsible for my embracing the notice of leaves in colors other than green! Great use of Betsy’s Blossoms, too. And the huge alphabet stamps are totally cool!!!
Those leaves are yet another example of my moving outside my comfort zone. Sigh. Will I ever grow up?
