How Could I Forget my Summer Smooches?

How could I forget my Summer Smooches? What are they? They're a set of sneak peak items from the next Stampin' Up! catalog. As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I can preorder items, before they're available to my customers. That way, I'm ready with samples and tips when you receive your new products. I had my  list ready to go on an order last month, but, somehow, I never actually entered them on an order. How silly of me! As I always say, a mind is such a terrible thing to waste.

But the Summer Smooches products are only here in April. All but 2 of them will be in the next catalog. But they are just so cute and bright. You need to see them now. Thank goodness for My Digital Studio. I immediately purchased the 2 Summer Smooches digital downloads and started creating. Here is my first card.

Fun flowers! Fun colors! Very fun card!!

It has all the elements of a hand made card … background paper, "stamped" images, punches, brads. I was going to add ribbon, but just couldn't decide where to put it.

I began with one of the card templates in the Summer Smooches Kit. I changed the background paper, removed some flowers, added the Island Indigo card stock mats and brads. By the way, to tone down the background paper, I added a "vellum layer" above it!

Of course, I don't like the inside of my cards to be naked. The template had a blank inside, so here is how I changed it. (Sorry, I totally forgot that the white background would blend with the blog background.)

I forgot that the white card stock would blend with the blog background...

This card is ready to print, just as it it. However, I think I will add some embellishments, just for fun, after I print the card. I'm thinking about Crystal Effects to make the flowers glossy. What do you think? Leave me a comment below and let me know.

  1. The design part is really useful. I use it more with scrapbooking, I admit, but I find it useful on all kinds of projects.

  2. I am so intrigued by going digital! I love the concept of so much flexibility and being able to change colors and add fonts and play with the layout until it’s just right — with no wasted paper or ink! Or inadvertent smudges when the card is almost finished! How many times has THAT happened?! :/

I think Crystal Effects would be a great embellishment!
