Hip! Hip! Hooray! It’s Left Handers Day! We always celebrate this day with a special card design!
It’s difficult to tell from this photo, but the card opens on the left side, not the right side. (Did you notice that I didn’t call it the wrong side?!)
I kept the design very simple. After all, the theme of the day is simple and straightforward. I didn’t want the message to be lost in a lot of fuss and embellishments.
I started with the Bravo photopolymer stamp set. These are so easy to use! Everything points to the left, even the small arrows at the bottom, stamped with the What’s Your Type? photopolymer stamp set.
Everything is fun and bright. Here are a few tips for you.
The 4-1-1
- I inked the arrow once, but stamped three times, to show movement at the bottom of the card. It’s a gentle hint to open on the left!
- To make the paper arrow, I cut out a free-hand notch on the right side. Then I held it on the left side and cut it out on the margins. That made the two notches equal! You see, anyone can make an arrow, even without special tools.
- To add interest to the Daffodil Delight stripe, I pierced three series of equally spaced holes. I used my Paper-Piercing Tool, the Stampin’ Pierce Mat and the Essentials Piercing Template, Easy as 1-2-3.
Happy Left Handers Day!!!
