Sometimes, I create traditional card designs, as in the Hearts a Flutter Valentine.
I started with the products in the Hearts a Flutter Bundle. This bundle from the Spring Catalog includes both the stamp set and the set of Framelits Dies, at a 15 percent discount! (I love to save money. Don't you?) And while I did use a little pink – that is, Rose Red and Pink Pirouette – I stayed primarily with shades of blue. – mainly Midnight Muse and Baja Breeze. If you're a regular reader of this blog, you know that blue is my absolute favorite color! Or course, there is a little bit of So Saffron, just to create interest!
The different shapes were stamped on Whisper White card stock, then cut out ever so easily with my Big Shot die-cutting machine and the Framelits dies. I arranged them, then attached them to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
I admit that it took me a few minutes to pick which colors I would use for each shape. But now that I did the hard part, all you need to do is copy! Of course, I'd love it if you'd credit me with the design.
The point of this post is to help you see that each card design does not need to be an original work of art. Sometimes, simple and traditional is best. Especially with my Hearts a Flutter Valentine!
Thanks! I couldn’t have done it without the Framelits. Can’t wait to work with it some more!
again- I love the combination of shapes. so fun!
