Not “pie” – Pi Day. As in the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Hmmm. Did you sleep through Math Class?!??!
No matter what the size of the circle is, Pi always has the same value. However, it’s an irrational number, which means the digits following the decimal point never end and never repeat!
The value of Pi, to 9 decimal places is 3.141592653. So March 14, (“3.14”) is celebrated as Pi Day!
So cool!
But it gets even better. Pi to 4 decimal places is 3.1416. Yikes! That’s so similar to 3/14/16 or March 14, 2016.
So, Happy Pi Day! Happy Rounded Pi Day!
It’s all a good reason to celebrate!! Make a card with circles!
