I’m a mathematician, by education, so I’ve always found geometric shapes to be pleasing in my card designs. But now, geometric designs are HOT! They appear in all kinds of craft designs. Here is one example.
I started with 2 different sheets of Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper – Love the shapes… polka dots and triangles… doesn’t get much better for me! (I think I enjoy these even more than flowers!)
And the colors! Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Strawberry Slush. These say “summer” to me. Must be wishful thinking here in the 4th snowiest winter ever in the Midwest.
This card just makes me feel happy! So, i punched out more polka dots with my 1/2″ Circle Punch and added them to card. I even put some Stampin’ Dimensionals under some.
Top Tips:
- Use the Designer Series Paper to pick the colors of your card. Makes it easy. No thinking involved. No decisions to be made =]
- Repeat shapes for a cohesive design. The 1/2 circles provide a transition between the tiny polka dots on the paper and the large circle used for the sentiment.
- Use small amounts of black for POP! My black mat is very thin. I also added some black under the sentiment and with the Basic Black 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon strand under the sentiment.
Easy card. The Designer Series Paper makes it ever so fast to make. Just remember that this paper is available in the Occasions catalog, which ends on June 1. Don’t wait until supplies run out.
Don’t you agree that Geometric Designs are HOT?
