We usually think of flowers as being feminine and soft, but today I’m showing flowers in a strong card design.
Once again, I chose the Secret Garden stamp set from the Spring Catalog. I love how the stamped images correspond to the Secret Garden Framelits Dies for the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.
All the flowers are stamped directly on the card base, except for the one near the top. It’s die cut and has the Certainly Celery 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon taped to its underside. The flower is then attached to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. For a touch of glamor, I added a Pearl Basic Jewel to its center.
These elements could have looked softer, since I started with Certainly Celery. But the addition of strong colors – Pacific Point and Elegant Eggplant – removes all the prissiness.
I would even feel comfortable sending this Thank You card to a man!
I like this card so much, that I just decided that I will include it, or a card similar to it, in my March Card Class.
Every month I hold a card class in my home. We make 6 cards, 2 in each of 3 designs. If you’re local and interested in attending Card Class, then let me know.
In the meanwhile, enjoy these flowers in a strong card design!
Thanks…
yeah, sorry, that’s not happening — but I’ll miss you all, too!
We’ll miss you at card class. You could consider skipping vacation to be with us…..
😉
Love this strong floral card!!! Flowers are like women — way tougher than we look!! Sorry I can’t make it to class this month. Really looking forward to what kind of yummy stuff you have cooked up for us!
