Fabulous Flowers with a Faux Tile Background

Today’s card design showcases some Fabulous Flowers with a faux tile background!

Fabulous Flowers with a faux tile backgroundI began with the Fabulous Florets and Simply Sketched stamp sets. Although the image styles of these greatly differ, I found they balanced each other nicely in the card design.

I was feeling a little tired of the standard matting, where the layer form a concentric set of rectangles. So, I offset them a little. What do you think? Do you use this technique on any of your projects?

Colors are Basic Black, Crushed Curry and Whisper White – simple and clean!

  1. Wow! I really like the off-set! I would have never thought of that (being a creature of habit, myself) which is why I love your blog posts and classes!! Great technique with the faux tile — that’s been on my list to try, so now I am really motivated! Also like the nifty thing you did with notching out the sentiment tag. Add that to the list, too!!
