Many of us suffer from this: the fear of coloring on our hand made cards. I used to be that way. I mastered this technique – to some degree – with my Blender Pens and Aqua Painters. But using the new Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities took me to a new level. I guarantee this – try them and you will eliminate your fear of coloring. 🙂
I started with the Bloom with Hope Hostess stamp set. So pretty. I just love these flowers. But they are all outlined. That meant (to me, at least,) that they needed to be colored in.
Yikes! Fear prevented me from using these gorgeous stamps!
So, I gave the Blendabilities a go. Wow!! That’s all I can say. The final image is beautiful. And it was so easy to do.
I used the Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blendabilities Assortment. Each Assortment has 3 shades – light, medium and dark.
To apply colors, start I started where I wanted it to be dark. Using small circular movements, I colored with the dark pen. Then I colored with the light pen. (I know, this is NOT how anyone else does it. But, trust me, it’s easier to do like this.) Then I colored between the two, making sure to overlap the existing ink.
And here is my final project. First time. No hesitation. No mistakes.
By the way, if I had made a mistake, the Color Lifter removes it for you! It just doesn’t get any better than that!
