Don’t Forget About Christmas

Don’t forget about Christmas, even though it’s still the month of May. In all the excitement of the retiring items, I know I focus on the all-occasion products – stamps, paper, embellishments. But there are some holiday products that are retiring, too. Let’s look.

Stylish Christmas

This is a variation of a card I offered to my Business-to-Business clients. I designed it with the Stylish Christmas stamp set. This rubber stamp set is a DistINKtive set. That means the rubber was manufactured using the Stampin’ Up! patent pending process. The result is a 3 dimensional image. Check out the poinsettia red petals and the green leaves.

Stylish Christmas will retire on June 3, 2019.

The stamp set images also include swirls and tiny snowflakes, perfect for creating tons of different designs. It’s definitely a stamp set you should acquire, before it’s removed from sale. You could design cards for years to come!

Design

The design I used is quite simple, allowing the stamped images to grab your attention. The card front is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. The stamping is only on the top Whisper White layer, which is glued over layers of Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Tranquil Tide. I varied the width of each mat. But you can make them all the same, if you prefer. Whatever you find easiest and more attractive!

Note that Tranquil Tide is one of the retiring In Colors.

All layers are 5-1/2″ wide, so you can’t be sloppy when you measure. (Tip: When you assemble your card, you may discover that you goofed and the edges don’t align. Carefully use your paper trimmer to clean up the sides. No one will ever know, as long as your measurements are close!)

I purposely chose not to pop up any of the design with embellishments and Stampin’ Dimensionals. That keeps the postage costs down a little, an important consideration when sending holiday cards.

Be sure to check over the Holidays section of the 2018-2019 catalog, to see if there are any Christmas stamp sets you missed. Don’t forget about Christmas!
